Wolverhampton: Abigail's Touring Adventures

11 November 2015

Check out what Brave New World cast member Abigail McKern got up to last week when the show opened in Wolverhampton.

Brave New World cast member Abigail McKern is letting us on in her journey while on tour. Abigail is a keen photographer and she kindly agreed to share her experience of life on the road during the duration of the tour! We thought it would be a great way to let you all see what touring theatre is like, as well as explore some of the towns and cities TCTC tours to.

If you've missed the journey so far, go back catch up on Abigail's previous photo diary

Last week, Brave New World toured to the Grand Theatre in Wolverhampton. The Grand first opened its doors back in 1894 and was designed by prestigious theatre architect Charles J. Phipps and Wolverhampton native builder Henry Gough.

Abigail tells us the cast of Brave New World were delighted to be there despite the terrible weather!

Abigail says...
We have been warmly welcomed by the Friends of the Wolverhampton Grand. Little bowls of fruit left in our dressing rooms and drinks and a sumptuous feast in the Front Of House bar after our first night. Sophie and I visit BBC radio Birmingham for a live on air chat about the show and take in the impressive newly opened GRAND CENTRAL station concourse. Gruff takes up rope skipping for his pre show warm up, Olivia continues her Yoga practice. I walk Max the dog belonging to the friends I am staying with and discover the house where one of my favourite historical artists lives - who also happens to have the same name as my great grandfather!

We had our best so far after show Q and A session in Wolverhampton. A good mix of ages and some really interesting discussions which could have gone on longer if we'd been allowed!
