War Poetry Longlists Published 24 Nov, Most Popular Tweeting Begins

Tuesday, 11 November 2014

Our wildly successful War Poetry for Today competition is drawing to an exciting climax. Our full longlists will be published on Monday 24 November, when a final round of sharing for the audience-decided prize will begin!

Since launching on 4 August 2014, we’ve received over 600 submissions in our War Poetry for Today competition to find 21st-century heirs to Siegfried Sassoon and Wilfred Owen.

Submissions close on Sunday 23 November 2014. Our poetry judges will decide the winners of the £500 Grand prize and the £250 Runner-up prize.

However, YOU the audience will decide our third, Most Popular prize, which also carries prize money of £250.

Throughout the tour of Regeneration, the cast have been voting for their favourite of three poems selected each week by the editorial staff of TheatreCloud. These cast selections will comprise the final shortlists, from which the judges will make their decisions.

On Monday 24 November 2014, we’ll publish the final shortlist AS WELL AS the full longlists, all 30 poems originally chosen and put forward by Theatre Cloud staff.

Then it’s up to you! Log back on and tell us your favourite of the 30 by sharing the title of your poem and the page link on Twitter or Facebook, also being sure to namecheck @TheatreCloud and #WarPoetryToday.

You’re going to make somebody £250 richer on 28 November! Who will be?!
