What advice does Brave New World adapter Dawn King have for our new writing challenge? Watch our video to find out.

The challenge is to write your own ending to Brave New World. But where do you start? Well, ideally with the book! Once you've read that, check out our interview with the play's adapter Dawn King. Dawn is an established writer who started playwriting through a workshop at Soho Theatre. Over the last year, she's been adapting Huxley's classic for a world premiere at the Royal & Derngate theatre in Northampton on 4 September 2015

So what advice does she recommend for approaching the challenge? Well...

'As with writing any scene, I'd want to figure out how it was going to be dramatic, where the conflict was coming from, what the characters wanted and how I would make it work in five pages'

If you're interested in taking part in the challenge and want more advice from Dawn, we recommend you go and read the book before watching. The video contains spoilers and we wouldn't want to ruin your enjoyment! Watch at your own risk!

All entries will be read by Dawn King and producer Jenny King. If you submit your script by 7 September 2015, your script could receive a rehearsed reading on stage at one of our eight partner theatres across the UK. Ten writers will be given the opportunity to attend a free playwriting workshop by renowned writer and actor Nigel Planer

The project is open to people of all ages.
