A new production commemorating the role of women in WW1 is touring the East Midlands this Summer.
In 1918, the Chilwell munitions workers were caught in the biggest explosion this country has ever known, yet the survivors all turned up for work days later. Swan Canaries, Arletty Theatre's new musical play uses songs from the era, movement and comedy to celebrate the heroism of the women workers, nicknamed 'Canary Girls', because the TNT they worked with turned their skin yellow. Now touring. See Arletty Theatre for more info.
A lovely, touching play: interesting characters, great story & hilarious too. Go see it!
