Coventry auditions for A View from the Bridge

To celebrate Arthur Miller's centenary this year, the Touring Consortium Theatre Company are producing a new production of the much-loved play A View from the Bridge.  The production will also include a community ensemble hand-picked from locals to each tour stop on the way. It's X Factor for the touring theatre world!

"Having just retired, I already had in my sights for all that wonderful spare time now in my life, finding all the opportunities of continuing to pursue the first love of my life and that is performance theatre."
Juliet Grundy, Coventry hopeful.

Auditions have been held around the UK last year and this week they hit Coventry and there were lots of excited hopefuls waiting to tread the boards of the prestigious Belgrade theatre. Auditionees included aspiring actors, members of the Belgrade Youth Theatre and retired folk.

"I have never been a part of a proper production show before and I think this would be a great chance for me to work with a wide range of fantastic artists."
Amritpal Dhillon, member of Seniors Youth Theatre and auditionee.

The full community cast for Coventry will be announced next week and will appear alongside the production’s professional company of actors.

A View from the Bridge opened at Theatre Royal, Nottingham, where it ran from 4 to 7 March 2015. It then toured to Cheltenham, Darlington, Wolverhampton, Bradford, Coventry and Edinburgh, where it concluded on 2 May.
