Oh What A Lovely War's Matthew Malthouse on his highlight of the tour so far and who he would swap places with for the day!

What has been the highlight of the tour so far?

My highlight was opening in Stratford East, the history of the play in the venue was incredible.

What made you decide to become an actor?

I started acting due to me loving Michael Jackson as a kid and wanting to dance like him and it all stemmed from there.

What was the last show you saw?

Taken at midnight, is a harrowing 2nd world war piece.

If you could play any part in any show, what would it be?

I would love to play Bert in Mary Poppins.

What has been your favorite stop on the tour so far?

Malvern or Torquay. I am a keen runner and the countryside in both is great.  As a theatre Bath stands out. Beautiful theatre.

If you could swap places with anyone for a day, who would it be?

A world class sportsman, Ronaldo or Lewis Hamilton.

Oh What a Lovely War runs at London's Theatre Royal Stratford East from 29 January to 7 February 2015, and then tours to Richmond, Malvern, Manchester, Cambridge, Bath, Torquay, Guildford, Coventry, Brighton, Leicester, Aylesbury and Birmingham, where the tour concludes on 9 May 2015.
