Oh What A Lovely War's Emma Crossley on why she wanted to get involved with this production

What are your career highlights to date?

Performing at the Olivier Awards 2014 with Benny and Bjorn from Abba.

What do you hope people take away from the show?

A greater understanding of what happened to all those soldiers, and not just the British, and especially the younger generation who may not have been educated about the atrocities of WW1.

What was the first thing you saw on stage that had a big impact on you?

Jason Donovan in Joseph at the London Palladium.

What’s your favourite book?

Any of the Twilight books – I’m obsessed!

What’s the best advice you have been given?

Stay sassy!

Why did you want to get involved with this production?

It was a great opportunity to work with a great director and to do an original piece by the late great Joan Littlewood.

Oh What a Lovely War runs at London's Theatre Royal Stratford East from 29 January to 7 February 2015, and then tours to Richmond, Malvern, Manchester, Cambridge, Bath, Torquay, Guildford, Coventry, Brighton, Leicester, Aylesbury and Birmingham, where the tour concludes on 9 May 2015.
