Ambassador's Day: Of Mice and Men

Ambassador's Day: Of Mice and Men

19 February 2016

What did ambassadors think about Of Mice and Men when they saw the show for the first time at Birmingham Repertory Theatre?

On 6 February 2016, theatre ambassadors from the Darlington Civic Theatre and Wolverhampton Grand gathered in Birmingham for the Of Mice and Men ambassador's day. The date marked the 79th anniversary of the book's first publication in 1937, and we were happy to help honour Steinbeck's work by attending the event and sharing in discussions about the story's themes and relevance.

The ambassadors spread the word about new shows, helping develop new audiences in their area. Ambassadors get to see the show ahead of it touring to their local theatre, getting to go backstage and see the set up close, and finishing the day meeting the cast. Of Mice and Men is the fifth TCTC show some of the ambassadors have seen since the scheme began in 2013. We're always eager to speak to the ambassadors, whose invaluable work helps us understand and develop our audiences.

We spoke to a few of them at the end of the day to see what they thought, check it out:
